Q: What is your major and minor (if applicable)?

A: Finance Major.

Q: What inspired you to pursue a business degree?

A: I started out in engineering and quickly found it was not for me. I always was interested in understanding how things worked, and found that understanding businesses and their financials was more intriguing to me than understanding how physical objects were designed.

Q: Who is someone who inspires you?

A: Arnold Schwarzenegger

Q: What has been your most memorable experience of business so far?

A: My most memorable business experience so far would be my BUS 201 case analysis. It was the first time I was able to present my business ideas in a professional manner. I enjoyed the experience and look forward to other similar opportunities In the future.

Q: How would you describe yourself in three words?

A: Determined. Happy. Resilient.

Q: What will we find you doing when you’re not at school or studying?

A: I am either socializing, in the gym or out skiing.

Q: What's your dream career?

A: It would involved either graduating Law School or completing my CFA.

Julie Lai

Q: What is your major and minor (if applicable)?

A: Finance Major and currently no minor!

Q: What inspired you to pursue a business degree?

A: What enticed me to pursue a business degree the most was how transferable the skills are from classroom to real life. One for example would be developing crucial communication skills which is a life long skill that could easily make all difference in properly expressing yourself in an interview or even just getting along with people who have differing views from you.

Q: Who is someone who inspires you?

A: My grandmother is my ultimate inspiration. Her soft yet fighting spirit taught me that it's important to choose kindness even during times when the world seems to have turned its back on you. She is someone that likes to push herself to explore out of her comfort zone and often tells me to take risks because you never know what's out there waiting to be discovered.

Q: What has been your most memorable experience of business so far?

A: I must say that hands down and without a doubt, it would be Ignite! Ignite had given me the opportunity to befriend and meet many like-minded individuals and I found that that experience really set a home-y feel whenever I set foot in the business building. Because of Ignite, I eased into my first semester of business with much more ease than I had imagined. Not only that but I also walked out it with friends that will last a lifetime.

Q: How would you describe yourself in three words?

A: Authentic, reliable and clumsy.

Q: What will we find you doing when you’re not at school or studying?

A: Outside of school, you'll find me exploring new and quirky places to eat. When I'm not out and about exploring, you'll find me making a mess in the kitchen trying to execute a new pastry recipe I found online (still haven't set my house on fire yet).

Q: What's your dream career?

A: My dream job is to become a CFO for a cool company or owning and operating my business would be pretty neat as well!

To continuously offer opportunities which empower undergraduate students to

understand and adopt the essential skills learned in the study of strategic management

and organization.
